Able to hold a direct load of 440 lb, the Airhed 3 Ball Head from 3 Legged Thing is an extremely sturdy head with a detachable Arca-type compatible panning clamp and quick-release plate. The QR plate is also compatible with the Peak Design Capture Clip for added versatility. Separate locks control the movement of the ball and the 360° horizontal panning.
For off-axis panning, the clamp also has the ability to pan 360°, allowing it to act as a semi-gimbal head when in the portrait position. The clamp can be removed and is backwards-compatible with previous AirHed's, such as the AH0, AH1 and AH2 from the Evolution 2 range. A bull's eye bubble level on the clamp enables you to quickly align the camera with the horizon when the tripod is on uneven ground.
