It can be used to add extra kick to a mic that lacks midrange or for bringing an instrument forward in a mix. Its upfront mids make it ideal for use with drums, guitar, bass, and acoustic instruments. It is especially effective when used for recording acoustic guitar with a condenser mic, as well as for capturing the resonance and character of rack and floor toms. The EM-Red can be used in applications for live performance, recording, broadcast environments, and more.
