User manual for the Arturia MiniLab - USB Controller with Analog Labs Software
The user manual for the Arturia MiniLab - USB Controller with Analog Labs Software provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Computer Audio - Keyboard Controllers.
The MiniLab from Arturia is a full-featured, twenty-five velocity sensitive mini-key MIDI controller that functions with most DAW or other audio software. But when paired with the included Analog Lab software, it creates a hybrid synthesizer with over 5,000 classic keyboard sounds. Sixteen encoders provide various programming functions, while two, touch-sensitive strips deliver pitch bend and modulation control with "last position hold" or "return to zero" modes.
Two banks of eight backlit performance pads can be easily assigned as pads, MIDI CC buttons, program change switches, or transport controls. The first eight pads allow for setting up chords that can be recalled, perfect for triggering arpeggiated sounds with a specific set of notes, or set the pad to Toggle mode and hold ambient drones. The other eight pads can be set up for instant recall of various snapshots, such as a collection of favorite sounds.
When using the Analog Lab software, the front-panel controls of the keyboard will automatically map to the most used parameters of each sound in Analog Lab. Functions like cutoff, resonance, envelope controls, LFO rates, etc., are all mapped to the knobs. For other mapping solutions, free MIDI Control Center software allows for mapping parameters from a computer, with those presets stored in the hardware for instant recall.
The Analog Lab software synthesizer delivers over 5,000 sounds chosen from the company's vintage analog recreations, and includes selections from the Mini V, Modular V, CS-80V, Arp2600V, Jupiter-8V, Prophet V, Prophet VS, Oberheim SEM V and Wurlitzer V. A Multi mode allows for creating layers and splits as well as warping and twisting sounds with fifteen effects. The software offers fast and simple editing, but owners of any of the individual synthesizer products or the V Collection can open an Analog Lab sound, edit it in the original software, save it, and then add it to the MiniLab library.
The MiniLab keyboard can also function as a perfect mobile solution. It is small enough to fit in a laptop bag, and an assignable pedal input jack (pedal sold separately) with its multiple functions rounds out its comprehensive control features. And with the addition of the (optional) Camera Connection Kit, the system becomes compatible with the iPad.
