The DSP-2 from Ashly is a DSP expansion card for PE-series amplifiers. In addition to several DSP options, it offers analog audio input and output via Euroblock connectors, as well as a digital AES input and remote level control, preset recall and remote standby mode via a phoenix-type connector. The card features 24-bit AD/DA conversion and operates from 44.1 to 96kHz.
The available DSP options include graphic, parametric, notch, and shelving EQ, high and low pass filters, all pass filters, signal delay, a compressor/limiter, gate, matrix mixer, signal generators, and metering. DSP functions are accessed by connecting the DSP-2 to a computer or network via the RJ45 connector and using the included Protea software. The DSP functions use a "Click and Hot-Plug" interface that allows you to choose a processing block and put it anywhere you like in the signal chain. Because this process happens in real time, there's no waiting for the system to recalculate or recompile any settings.
