The PS28-2 Night Vision Device from ATN adapts a day vision rifle scope to low-light or no-light missions or training. It features a Generation 2 intensifier tube with resolution of 40-45 lp/mm, a detachable Infra Red laser illuminator, and a catadioptric objective. The catadioptric optical design helps gather more light while reducing the overall weight. The Gen 2 tube is equipped with a micro-channel plate, or the MCP, which increases gain of the intensifier. This increases image brightness and sharpness when compared to Generation 1 devices. The Proshield multiple anti-reflective coatings increase transmission of light and further enhance brightness. To provide visibility in total darkness, this night vision is outfitted with the included IR450 Infra Red laser illuminator. In event when there is enough ambient Infra Red to see well without illumination, the laser can be easily detached from the main unit. Other optical performance parameters are 1x magnification, 684' @ 1000 yd linear field of view, and a minimum focus of 11 yards.
Beyond these optical highlights, this NVD is has a number of useful handling functions. To prevent the intensifying tube from burning out, it has a Bright Light Cut Off function. When the device is exposed to light intensities above safe threshold level, it will automatically turn off. Additionally, it comes with a remote control to allow you a quick motionless operation. The housing is waterproof and has a rubberized armoring. It can be mounted directly to the rifle scope or the barrel in front of it.
