User manual for the Audio Ltd. S468454/343 PTX / DX Wireless Transmitter S468454/343

The user manual for the Audio Ltd. S468454/343 PTX / DX Wireless Transmitter S468454/343 provides necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Location Sound - Wireless Systems.

The S468454/343 PTX / DX Wireless Transmitter System from Audio Ltd. is a wireless transmitter system designed to turn an XLR-plug microphone into a wireless one. This system is comprised of one PTX plug-on UHF transmitter which broadcasts on a F34 group, one DX UHF wireless receiver set on the F3 group, and a standard 24" XLR to Binder 7-pin connector cable.

The PTX transmitter features a balanced 3-pin XLR input connector with a locking screw collar for professional dynamic and condenser microphones. It is ergonomically designed with a "trilobular" shape to look good on camera and is lightweight at 5 oz. The PTX features an antenna which is built into its robust aluminum body and a low-power blue Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display. All parameters are set by scrolling the wheel on the bottom of the unit. The PTX transmitter can be used with dynamic mics and provides switchable +48V phantom-power for professional condenser microphones. Powered by two 1.5V AA type batteries, the PTX runs for about 5 hours (depending on battery type) when phantom-powering a condenser microphone or up to 9 hours when used with a dynamic microphone. It is recommendable to use NiMH type batteries.

The DX receiver is a battery powered True Diversity UHF wireless receiver. The receiver offers clear sound, True Diversity RF range, spectrum analyzer table scanning, and up to 40 MHz switching bandwidth. Its menu features a low-power blue OLED display. All parameters are set by scrolling the wheel on the bottom of the unit. The receiver has a Binder 7-pin locking connector. The DX is powered either by a single 1.5V AA type battery, or by an external 6-18 VDC power source via the DX Output Cable with Hirose 4-pin for external DC (not included).

The standard cable connects to the output of the DX receiver (via the Binder 7-pin connector) on one end and to a balanced XLR input of a mixer on the other. This standard cable does not have a DC tap to externally power the DX and is recommended only when internal AA batteries are used.
