User manual for the Bretford NETBOOK36-CT 36-Unit Netbook Storage Cart NETBOOK36-CT

The user manual for the Bretford NETBOOK36-CT 36-Unit Netbook Storage Cart NETBOOK36-CT provides necessary instructions for the proper use of the product A/V Presentation - Mounts & Carts - Mobile Charging Stations.

The Bretford NETBOOK36-CT 36-Unit Netbook Storage Cart (CT) features a small 32 x 26" (812.8 x 660.4mm) footprint but with wide 2.25" (57.15) computer slots to accommodate both the netbooks and the extended battery packs.

The cart includes a sophisticated Power Management System or Brain that decreases heat and electrical stress while proportionally distributing power to the netbooks. With the brain, no manual switching or timer is required. It regularly redistributes power to ensure consistent charging and to keep the netbooks cool, thereby allowing them to charge faster. The brain also senses when the laptop batteries are almost charged, then automatically decreases power, which helps save battery life and energy.

The Power Management System or Brain mounts above the top shelf and uses a microchip to distribute power and decrease netbook battery heat and electrical stress. As batteries near full charge, the electrical current is reduced to keep batteries within their thermal limit and extend useful life. A push button cycles between three power modes and LED lights indicate what functions are being performed.

The Round Robin mode monitors the power drawn on each 10-outlet electrical bank and provides power to the bank with the most discharged computers. The power needs are regularly evaluated, sending power to the most discharged batteries, allowing all computers to be charged at once from a single power circuit. The Turbo mode dedicates power to one power bank, charging 14 computers rapidly. The Auxiliary mode shuts power off to the laptop power banks and diverts it to auxiliary outlets on the power management system for a printer or scanner.

It requires only a single power cord to the wall outlet, which minimizes circuit tripping and reduces electricity consumption. At the same time, the auxiliary power outlets on the top shelf allow it to double as a presentation cart in the classroom, with room for a video projector or a printer since the brain can dedicate power to those accessories when they are needed. The 1 A electrical outlet is located inside the cable closet to provide power to a wireless router. The system is controlled by an on / off switch and features a 12' (3.65 m) power cord. The outlet is always powered regardless of the power mode selection.

Located in the back of the cart, the cable management area provides storage and identification for each computer and cord with the ability to store more than 430’ (131.06 m) of cable without clutter. Each vertical slot has a permanent laser-cut ID number for coding the computers, the slots and the cable sets, making it easier to manage and identify their location. The cart also has divider brackets to keep the power connector cables in the proper position, while holes in the divider panel allow the cables to pass through and connect easily to the computers for charging.

The rear cable closet provides organization for computer power transformers and is divided into three 12-outlet power banks, Bank A, Bank B, and Bank C. A labeling system is included to coordinate computers in the front with power in the back.

This cart has been tested by Underwriter Laboratories and certified to comply with UL 60950 Standards for safety of Informational Technology. It is certified for the United States and Canadian markets.
