The high gloss black colored Cambridge Audio Minx 212 Stereo System contains two Minx Min 11 speakers and a Minx X200 subwoofer.
Each speaker is a wide dispersion speaker that features Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) driver technology. BMR drivers utilize patented bending wave principles normally seen in advanced flat panel speakers combined with pistonic movement (backwards and forwards) like in a traditional speaker design. This technology provides a wider frequency response than comparable style speakers for much deeper and more powerful bass frequencies plus spacious sound.
A normal speaker works like a piston - back and forth. A flat panel driver design uses vibrational modes to create sound across a smaller surface area but this design suffers from limited frequency range. BMR driver technology used in this speaker combines pistonic action (to enable lower frequency response than flat panel) and vibrational modes in one drive unit. Benefits of BMR include wide frequency response from one driver, slimline design (ideal for applications where space is limited) and wider dispersion than regular pistonic drivers.
The subwoofer is a 200 watt subwoofer that features a forward firing drive, combined with an innovative Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) to deliver superior efficiency and enable a much smaller footprint.
It also features a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) designed by Cambridge Audio's software engineers for a great performance from small enclosures. Regardless of your room's shape and size, DSP and simple set-up adjustments ensure your system is customized for placement almost anywhere.
