The Cartoni AIRFLOATER Tripod Head with Mitchell Standard Base & Pump is used to help you achieve that "Handlheld" look with heavy cameras weighing up to 330 pounds. With nearly the same dimensions as a conventional fluid head, the AIRFLOATER is a different type of video head that supports the weight of the camera using an air filled rubber ring. This allows you to operate the head and impart a handheld feel to your footage. An integrated air valve allows you to adjust the air pressure in the rubber ring, compensating for the weight of your camera and how rigid or soft you want the head's support to be.
The AIRFLOATER mounts to optional tripod legs with a Mitchell flat base fitting. It allows up to 18° of tilt with wobble, which means down and up tilt with some side to side movement, as you are essentially operating on an inflatable rubber tube. Three lockable telescoping arms allow you to lock the tilt and hold the camera position on the head. The pan axis can rotate a full 360°, and it features a two-position tension system, either locked or free. The integrated bubble level aids you in leveling the head, which comes with an European Quick release type baseplate.
