User manual for the CELESTRON LABS CB2000C Trinocular Microscope and Digital Imager

The user manual for the CELESTRON LABS CB2000C Trinocular Microscope and Digital Imager provides necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Optics - Microscopes - Microscopes.

The Celestron CB2000C Trinocular Microscope and Digital Imager Kit from B&H includes a scientific microscope with a binocular head, a third eyepiece tube, achromatic optics, and a digital imager. The kit serves as a versatile tool for your explorations or professional research and allows not only witnessing discoveries with your eyes but also documenting them in exciting images and videos for your reports, papers, and presentations with the included digital imager.

The CB2000C Trinocular Microscope offers a 45°-inclined binocular viewing head and the included trinocular eyepiece tube that creates a third optical path for a second observer or a digital camera. With an adjustable head and fully achromatic optics, you can change interpupillary distance to accommodate every viewer and observe your slides with reduced color defects and improved image quality. The binocular head eyepieces also have individual dioptric adjustments. You have a choice of four objectives on a rotating nose piece, including the 100x objective that ought to be used with immersion oil for better image clarity and not to damage the lens when it comes close to the surface of your slide. With two included pairs of eyepieces, the magnification spans a range from 40x to 2000x and enables you to study a multitude of samples ranging from insects, plants, or electronic devices to sections of tissues or cellular structures. When it comes to obtaining optimal image sharpness, the quality of optics is not enough. To help you obtain crisp images, this instrument is equipped with both a coarse and fine coaxial focusing gear and a wide, 5.5x5.5", mechanical stage with precision position adjustments with vernier control knobs and a linear measurement scale. The stage also has a slide holding bracket with locking screws. When they designed the illumination system, Celestron did not cut corners and provided a bright halogen lamp with a dimmer and a 1.25 NA Abbe condenser, an iris diaphragm for controlling a cone of light, and three color filters. The included blue, yellow, and green filters allow you to pick up and see different details of your specimens in these spectral bands. To add stability and precision to opto-mechanics, the body and mechanical stage are made of metal. The power supply is rated for 110-240V and will allow you to use this microscope in most parts of the world without needing to buy an extra power converter. Also included with the microscope are ten prepared slides, a replacement bulb, a replacement fuse, and immersion oil.

To empower you with the capability of recording digital videos or capturing digital images while you are making your observations, this kit also includes the Celestron Digital Microscope Imager with a 2MP CMOS sensor and a 10x optic. The imager can replaces one of the microscope's eyepieces or fit into a supplied trinocular eyepiece tube via the included adapter. This microscope will still allow you to use two eyepieces for making observations, positioning, or just moving your sample while the imager captures digital data. The imager is compatible with microscope eyepiece tubes from 23 mm to 30 mm in diameter and attaches to your PC or Mac via an attached cable with a USB 2.0 connector. The imager comes with optional image capturing software, the Digital Microscope Suite 2.0 for Windows, but the sensor itself works equally well with both Windows XP and Mac OS 10.4.9 operating systems or later versions.
