I should clarify, the charge point is on the side of the battery itself. Plug in the charger here and carefully wedge the battery inside the marley box with the charger still in the battery. Then turn it on, this works for me....

Take the back cover off the speaker and remove the battery, on the side there is a charge point, plug the charger directly into this point and place the battery back into the unit. Try turning the unit on after doing this. I hope this helps!...
