The Evolver Desktop Monophonic Synthesizer from Dave Smith Instruments is a desktop monophonic synth that is powered by two digitally controlled analog oscillators in addition to two digital wavetable oscillators. With its analog oscillators, you can select from sawtooth, triangle, saw/triangle, pulse-width, and hard-sync waves. The digital wavetable oscillators feature waves and wave-sequencing capabilities lifted from the Prophet VS synth.
Further tone-shaping possibilities come from the analog low-pass filters, 4 LFOs, 3 envelope generators, digital delays, and digital high-pass filter. The Evolver's 16x4-step sequencer is designed to create pseudo-polyphonic sounds. You can use the Evolver as an audio processing device thanks to its dual 1/4" TS audio inputs. The unit has 5-pin DIN MIDI in, out, and through connections and can be daisy-chained to other Evolvers to create polyphonic tones.
