The TC200P58ITDM Two-Position Battery Charger for Panasonic 7.2 VW-VBD58 Batteries from Dolgin Engineering features two integrated battery plates supporting Panasonic and non-OEM VW-VBD58 batteries. It is capable of charging two batteries simultaneously, and charges a typical 5800mAh battery in about 3.5 hours. As a battery is being charged, a diagnostics LCD displays status in volts, amp hours, and percentage of charge. The percentage of charge is estimated using a proprietary algorithm. The battery plates are built-in to ensure that the battery contacts remain robust. If at a future date you will need plates for different batteries, you can send the charger in to the manufacturer and have the plates replaced for a nominal fee.
A built-in test/discharge module (TDM) will allow you to determine whether a battery is new or old, and whether it is on par with its label. TDM cycles the battery (charge-discharge-charge) and provides a report on its capacity. The two battery positions are independent of each other, so you can insert or remove one battery while another is charging. An auto-detecting USB port is available for charging phones, tablets, and other USB devices. It works when the charger is plugged into AC power, or from an attached battery while on the go.
