User manual for the For.A FRC-8000 HD/SD Frame Rate Converter FRC-8000

The user manual for the For.A FRC-8000 HD/SD Frame Rate Converter FRC-8000 provides necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Professional Video - Signal Processing & Distribution - Signal Converters.

The For-A FRC-8000 HD/SD Frame Rate Converter offers up conversion, down conversion, and cross conversion of HD and SD formats. It is compatible with format SDI signals such as 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720/59.94p, 720/50p, 525/60, and 625/50.

With motion compensation processing, the FRC-8000 HD/SD Frame Rate Converter detects motion vectors of objects, and generates the object’s motion in interpolated frames from the amount of vector fluctuation in the frames before and after the motion. Provided with advanced motion estimate/compensation ability, it allows motion conversion for any number of frames. The Scene Cut detection feature automatically detects the unwanted scene changes, and eliminates motion compensation processing on this data thereby allowing fast frame rate conversion.

Using Text Field Automatic Detection, the FRC-8000 HD/SD Frame Rate Converter detects rolling text superimposed on the video, and allows optimal conversion for uncompromised character depiction. It enables you to manually add specification of fields for static superimposed text such as date, time, program title, logo, etc, and eliminates motion compensation processing of these data. The Genlock technique offers a reference signal that ensures synchronization between video and audio signals. With Proc Amp controls, you can adjust video display features such as video level, chroma level, chroma phase, and set up level.

Equipped with delay function, the converter allows you to adjust phase difference between video and audio. On installing the optional FRC-70DA or FRC-70DA16, the FRC-8000 HD/SD Frame Rate Converter becomes compatible with asynchronous/synchronous digital audio signals. When FRC-70D-D and FRC-70DE-E to FRC-70DA or FRC-70DA16 decoders are added to the converter system, it decodes and encodes Dolby E data AC-3 data. The converter allows encoding and decoding of 2 channels of Dolby E data, on installing the 2 Dolby E Encoder FRC-70DE-E cards
