The EXT-VGA-CAT5-148S 1x8 VGA CAT5 Distribution Amplifier (Sender) from Gefen is one piece of a larger system that allows you to extend the distance of signal transmissions up to 330 feet away from your equipment using CAT-5 cables. This unit works in conjunction with 1x8 VGA CAT5 Distribution Receiver devices. It connects to those units and sends them VGA signals flawlessly despite the extended distance between equipment.
The 1x8 VGA CAT5 Distribution Sender accepts (1) source feed and outputs it simultaneously to (8) separate channels. An individual 1x8 VGA CAT5 Distribution Receiver is required to receive each of these (8) output channels. This unit will also extend a Component video signal or Composite video with left-right analog audio (separate VGA-to-Component cables and VGA female-to-female adapter required). This unit maintains 1920 x 1200 resolution video.
