It has the same 200' depth rating as the Ikelite underwater DSLR camera housings for which it is designed. See Port Finder and Charts.
The port's dome shape corrects for the underwater size distortion that makes everything appear 25% larger and closer, thereby helping to restore the original wide angle of view of the lens. The position of the dome allows for sharp images even at the widest 10mm focal length--without vignetting. Be sure to set the focal length as desired before you commence your dive, as zoom control is not enabled with the port in place. A 6" diameter is large enough to provide sufficient coverage for wide shots, but small enough to keep the port at an easily manageable size and weight for travel.
Connecting the port to the housing is easy, as you need only press it on and secure it via three thumbscrews. This is the same mounting style featured on Ikelite's ports for mirrorless camera housings. The front element is crafted from optical-grade acrylic for clarity, while the body is made from durable acetal plastic. The port is manufactured in the USA.
