The Jag35 Austin Rig v2 Shoulder Rig is designed for shooters using DSLR/HDSLR cameras with rear mounted viewing screens, who like to keep their left hand free while shooting. The camera is secured to the mounting platform by a standard 1/4"-20 camera tie-down screw. Locking pins are provided for the Canon 5D Mark II, 7D, T2I and 60D, which prevent those cameras from pivoting on the mounting block. The Austin rig's offset shoulder pad positions the LCD viewfinder in front of the shooter's eyes. The rig sits on your shoulder and offset counterweight allows you adjust the rig's balance forward and back as well as side to side. Once balanced, you can support the rig on your shoulder with only one hand. This leaves your other hand free when shooting so you can pull focus on the lens, or make other on the fly adjustments.
The Austin rig is compatible with industry standard 15mm rods and available 15mm accessories such as follow-focus units, zoom motors and rod clamps. A water- and tear-resistant foam covered handle provides a durable cushioned grip. Multiple adjustment points allow you to adjust the rig for balance and comfort. The rig's modular design allows you to customize your rig to add external monitors or portable lighting, without needing to buy a new camera support rig. The unit is made from anodized CNC machined 6061 aluminum for strength, durability and resistance to corrosion and wear.
