User manual for the JBL 4641 Cinema Series 18" Passive Subwoofer 4641
The user manual for the JBL 4641 Cinema Series 18" Passive Subwoofer 4641 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Live Sound - PA Speakers.
The JBL 4641 Cinema Series 18" Passive Subwoofer utilizes the company's patented Vented Gap Cooling (VGC) process to pump air over and around the unit's 4" voice coil to improve heat transfer, reduce operating temperature, increase power handling, and reduce power compression within a direct radiator bass-reflex enclosure. The driver handles 1200 Watts of continuous program power to deliver a usable frequency response down to 22 Hz (-10 dB) with external EQ processing.
The 4" voice coil benefits from a winding technique that offers greater thermal stability and increased power handling. All elements of the cone, voice coil and suspension system are optimized for a smooth high frequency response. The subwoofer's magnet structure and compliance enable long peak-to-peak excursions without damage to the speaker.
The dense particle board enclosure is equipped with an extra-large front panel port, and the cabinet is tuned to a low 25 Hz. The subwoofer is designed primarily for professional use in cinema and screening room installations, although the unit will work reliably in most general sound reinforcement applications. The unit is officially approved by Lucas Films Ltd. for certified THX applications with both analog and digital soundtracks.
