The Storage Bridge NSB-25 Modular Memory Card Backup System with 2 x Bridge Pellets & REDMAG Memory Module from NEXTO DI is a mobile and expandable data backup device that features USB 3.0 connectivity and is designed for videographers, photographers, and those who are working in the field with large amounts of imaging data. This manufacturer's kit includes two NEXTO DI Bridge Pellet Modules, or drive caddies that will accommodate two user-supplied 2.5" / 9.5mm hard drives or solid state drives that will be used as destination drives for download or backup purposes and must be formatted as exFAT. While each bridge pellet connects to the NSB-25 using a SATA II 3 Gb/s connection, it will support also support SATA III 6 Gb/s and SATA 1.5 Gb/s hard drives or solid state drives. Not only do the pellets make it easy to expand the unit's storage capabilities, they may also be swapped out as need be. This manufacturer's kit also includes one REDMAG memory module. This module is designed to adapt REDMAG media for use with the NSB-25. Once the designated media is inserted into the memory module, the memory module may be inserted into the NSB-25, where data may be reviewed, downloaded, or backed up.
While this manufacturer's kit only includes a memory card module for REDMAG cards, optional memory card modules also support SxS, XQD, AXSM, P2, express P2, AJA QUAD, CFast, and 2.5" SATA HDD/SSDs. The NSB-25 supports memory cards and drives formatted as exFAT, FAT32, UDF, and HFS+, allowing it to work with files 4GB and larger.
The NSB-25 supports several backup options through its MCopy function, allowing users to simultaneously back up on up to three drives. After you have finished shooting footage, remove the memory card from your camera and insert it into a card slot on the NSB-25. You can then securely create up to three backups (two hard drive modules and one external drive via the built-in USB 3.0 port) simultaneously. This backup process will allow you to create a copy for archiving, a copy for editing, and a master backup. For example, your data can be archived to HDD 1 on the NSB-25, which has the same data that was copied and verified bit-by-bit from the cards. Data backed up to HDD 2 can be delivered for editing and the NSB-25 can also be synched with a RAID drive to create a master backup while on location. The NSB-25 also supports incremental backup, meaning that only files that have changed since the last backup will be copied. This will help backups to be completed more quickly and consume a minimum amount of storage space.
The NSB-25 is also able to playback 2K footage or preview 4K footage on its 5" TFT-LCD 800 x 480 touchscreen monitor, which also includes an internal speaker, a stereo audio out jack, and an HDMI out to an external monitor. 2K Playback supports MPEG2 up to 50 Mb/s as well as AVCHD, H.264, ProRes, and DNxHD. 2K Preview supports AVC-Intra and XAVC, while 4K Preview supports Cinema DNG through a firmware upgrade.
The NSB-25 includes an AC power adapter, a USB 3.0 cable, a car charger cable, a hand strap, and rubber bumpers. It is compatible with Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP SP 2 and 3 (with an exFAT patch update), Mac OS X 10.6.6 and above, and Linux 2.4.18 and above.
