The FF-240 Gearless Follow Focus Rig with 15mm Rod Kit for DSLR Cameras from Opteka is a compact DSLR rig bundled with gearless follow focus. It is constructed from aluminum and ABS material and is designed to work with all DSLR cameras and prosumer camcorders. The bundled follow focus is adjustable for virtually any lens and has a gearless feature to minimize bulk and add a sleek look. A quick-release plate lets you easily switch the camera between tripod and handheld use.
The gearless design utilizes a special rubber ring to securely grasp the focus rings on a lens. This facilitates fast lens changes, eases operation, and allows for a more affordable follow focus. The focus knob is tilted towards the user allowing for single user operation. Designed to have only a single, direct point of contact, this eliminates play (deflection) found in geared systems. The focus knob can be adjusted horizontally to accept a wide range of lens sizes.
