The HP Z440 Turnkey Workstation with Avid Media Composer and Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K combines a professional workhorse computer with a perpetual license of Media Composer, plus a video I/O card for capture and monitoring. All of the hardware and software is pre-installed and tested by B&H technicians. Additionally, the hardware installation is backed by 1-year of B&H tech support.
At the heart of this system is the HP Z440 F1M44UT Minitower Workstation. This server-grade computer features a 3.5 GHz Intel Xeon E5-1620 v3 quad-core CPU backed up by 32GB of RAM. To provide the GPU acceleration high resolution video playback requires - as well as support the more mundane task of driving your monitors (available separately) - the workstation features the NVIDIA Quadro K2200 GPU with 640 CUDA Cores and 4GB of RAM. A total of 4TB of media storage is provided, spread across two 2TB HDDs configured in RAID 0. In addition, there is a 500GB SSD drive to hold Windows and all of the applications. The advantage of using an SSD for this is faster boot times as well as faster applications launching. An additional fan has been installed to help the GPU cool more efficiently, especially under taxing workloads.
Media Composer 8 is a 64-bit non-linear editing system that allows you to work - without transcoding - with most file formats and resolutions, including SD, HD, stereoscopic 3D, even a growing number of 4K and high-res formats. It also features built-in effects, transitions, and titling tools. With Media Composer 8, you can mix and match different formats, frame rates, and resolutions in the same timeline without rendering. Media Composer 8 features Full 4:4:4 HD RGB support, color correction tools.
For monitoring and video capture, the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K card is included. It features HDMI and analog input and output. With it, you can digitize analog sources such as VHS tapes, capture from a live switcher or directly from an HDMI camcorder, or use it to connect a dedicated HDMI video monitor. Through HDMI it supports resolutions up to Ultra HD 4K. It is compatible with Media Composer as well as many other applications not included in this turnkey.
A shortcut keyboard is included so that you don't have to memorize every key shortcut Media Composer offers. In addition to the Media Composer shortcuts, the keycaps retain their standard alphanumeric printing so you can use the keyboard for regular computing tasks - even typing screenplays.
So that you can ingest media for file-based workflows, a 15-in-1 internal card reader is included. The reader supports CompactFlash, SDHC, MemoryStick, and more. The reader interfaces with the computer via USB 3.0.
