The NX500 is a compact, versatile mirrorless camera that leverages the DRIMe V image signal processor and a back side illuminated APS-C CMOS sensor to create high resolution images at up to ISO 51200. Also, it can record 4K video at up to 24 fps or UHD at up to 30 fps with HEVC (H.265) compression as well as high-speed continuous shooting at up to 9 fps. Focusing is fast with the NX AF System III with 205 phase-detect points of which 153 are cross-type. On the back of the camera is a 3.0" 1035k-dot AMOLED touchscreen for composing and viewing images. Adding to the unit's versatility is the inclusion of the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS zoom lens.
