Start shooting underwater while benefiting from a compact strobe featuring DS-TTL II, slave, and manual exposure control with this MDX-RX100III Underwater Housing Package from Sea & Sea. This kit bundles the MDX-RX100III waterproof enclosure for the Sony RX100 lll camera with the YS-D1 Strobe, a 5" Sea Arm 8 double ball-mount lighting arm, dual ball clamps, a fixed ball base, and a 17.8" Fiber-Optic Cable II with 2 Sea & Sea fittings.
Built for durability, the MDX-RX100III is constructed from corrosion-resistant galvanized aluminum. It's equipped with a built-in lens port featuring an M67 threaded screw mount for optional conversion lenses or filters. Additionally, it's configured with dual fiber-optic cable ports for connecting optional external strobes. The housing also has one connector on the side and one on the top for optional SA8 Fixed Ball Base mounts, which enable the addition of SA8 lighting arms and arm components. Replaceable sacrificial zinc anodes on the front and rear of the housing will corrode due to electrolysis, in order to prevent the corrosion of sensitive parts of the housing itself.
The YS-D1 Strobe features a 330' depth rating, a daylight-balanced 5600K color temperature, and a beam angle of 80 x 80°, which can be widened to 100 x 100° or 120 x 120° via the included diffusers. It has a guide number of 105' at ISO 100, which is reduced to 79' or 66' at the same ISO when you use the supplied Diffuser 100 or Diffuser 120. The strobe offers DS-TTL II, slave TTL, and 11-level manual exposure control, and features an exposure compensation (EV) control function. It is equipped with a conventional 5-pin Nikonos type sync cord connector and a port for the supplied Fiber-Optic Cable II. Additionally, it has an LED target light. Powered by 4x AA batteries, the YS-D1 has a recycle time of 1.9 sec with Ni-MH batteries, which are available separately.
