The user manual for the Seagate 2-Bay NAS Enclosure STCT100 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Computers & Solutions - Drives & Storage - NAS Enclosures.
The 2-Bay NAS Enclosure from Seagate is a complete network storage solution and private cloud designed for power users and business environments with up to 25 employees. This NAS is optimized for 24x7 use.
Compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, and Unix, this NAS is powered by an ARM 1.2 GHz processor, which will allow you to run multiple functions simultaneously. The built-in 512MB of DDR3 RAM will allow quick access to frequently-used files and programs and each drive slot of the 2-bay enclosure supports 3.5" SATA II (3 Gb/s) hard drives. This NAS will integrate with your network using its built-in Gigabit Ethernet port, which supports Wake-on-LAN in the event that a network message is received.
Since this NAS does not include any internal storage, its RAID options are not pre-configured. However, upon installation of any drive, SimplyRAID technology, which is built into Seagate NAS OS 4, will help you choose the RAID configuration that best suits your needs by balancing performance, capacity, and redundancy. SimplyRAID also allows users to begin storing files and using the NAS as soon as their preferred configuration is selected.
So long as network connectivity is active, this NAS and its content may be remotely accessed using the Sdrive software for Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone, and iPad. While using Windows and Mac, Sdrive will make the NAS appear as another drive connected to your computer so you can drag-and-drop, view thumbnails, and open files. While using a mobile device, Sdrive provides access to your files and enhanced security is maintained. All files are encrypted before leaving the NAS and can only be decrypted by the your mobile device's Sdrive app and proper user credentials.
Additionally, to help protect data and backup needs for enterprises, Seagate NAS OS 4 provides several security options, including AES 256-bit volume encryption, SSH, and CHAP authentication for iSCSI targets. Seagate also has free apps available that seamlessly integrate with your NAS to provide additional levels of protection. With the Daily Updates engine, Seagate Antivirus helps protect your data and systems from volatile threats, and the Seagate Surveillance Manager can be used to transform your NAS into a full-featured Network Video Recorder (NVR) for IP cameras.
This 2-Bay NAS Enclosure operates at 12V/48W and 100-240VAC at 50/60 Hz. It includes an Ethernet cable and power cord.
