Subject: EXH-6 max safe input voltage | Date: 18.11.2021 11:21:25 | Author: Larry | I wish to connect an external phantom power unit to the EXH-6 module.
To ensure there is no damage to its input circuit, can someone please advise of the maximum surge voltage permitted to the EXH-6 when the input switch is at 0db position.
[Aside - this surge voltage to the EXH-6 could occur when the external phantom unit is switched ON or OFF, or when a fault occurs on the MIC side of the phantom unit (e.g. a short from one of the 'hot' mic wires to ground.)
Clamping diodes are needed in the phantom power unit to protect against any damage to the input of the EXH-6.]
