The plate allows ready access to all camera controls while providing maximum contact with the camera bottom for increased stability and minimal flexing of the camera body. The raised lip is designed to prevent the camera from rotating. Acratech designs all its plates for maximum strength and rigidity. As a result, all unnecessary threaded bosses have been eliminated to reduce weight.
