The ALM Mini Cart Table-Top Dolly is a quality-built mini-dolly that at a very affordable cost will let you add some life to your shots, some smooth pans and dynamic curves to raise emotion and to support a cinematic atmosphere. Just attach your camera right atop and gently roll the dolly in the direction you want and on most any surface you want.
Here's the beauty of the Mini Cart: its adjustable wheels can be tightened in a position you want, so that thereafter all you'll have to do is just move the dolly forward or back, as opposed to training your hand to becoming at one with the wheels had they been free-wheeling wheels. And to help you align both sets of wheels to precise positions, the underside features laser-engraved markings to line the wheels up to.
Whereas its older brother, the Action Cart, is 12 x 8" in size, the Mini Cart is a more compact 5 x 8", meaning you can get a better grip on it with one hand, especially if your camera is lightweight, like a DSLR. The wheel base is what's 8", and because it's 8" it ensures that the Cart won't tip over, even if you load it with a full rig to full capacity, which is about 20 lbs.
You can use the Mini Cart on pretty much any surface, whether a sidewalk, the floor, or a table; and you can dare to use it on a wall or ceiling as well. Wherever you use it, you can aim for smooth shots in straight lines, in curves, and in full circles. The Mini Cart rolls on pro-quality urethane wheels, allowing for maximum durability and smoothness. The chassis is aluminum and has alternating 1/4" and 3/8" screw-holes and a 1/4" slotted rail. You're free to use these as you want, attaching to them tripod heads, articulating arms, or the camera directly. The difference between the holes and the rail is that whatever you attach into the rail can conveniently be moved back and forth. A 1/4"-20 thumb-screw comes included for use with either the holes or the rail.
