The user manual for the Axis Communications T8125 60W High PoE Midspan 5900-251 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Surveillance - Surveillance Video - Wired Networking - Power over Ethernet (PoE).
The Axis T8125 60W High PoE Midspan offers an easy, fast, and cost-effective solution for powering network video products specifically PTZ (pan / tilt / zoom) dome network cameras without the need to install power outlets and electrical cabling. This midspan can be connected to the mains power, transforming the power and injecting it into the network cable, enabling Axis network video products to receive data and power over the same Ethernet cable. This midspans conforms to the IEEE 802.3at for powering devices with high power requirements on a network and provides 60W (2 times IEEE802.3at) power, which is required when operating cameras such as the Q60-E in temperatures below -4°F (-20°C). It is also IEEE 802.3af compliant, which means that it can be used with all Axis network video products with built-in PoE support. It enables the network video products to receive data and power over the same Ethernet cable and also makes it easier to install in areas where power cabling and outlets are unavailable, thereby reducing costs.
