The user manual for the Cokin P-Series G1 and G2 Medium Graduated Neutral Density provides

This Cokin P-Series G1 and G2 Medium Graduated Neutral Density Filter Kit from B&H includes two 84mm-wide filters that can be used to selectively darken specific areas of an image. They are constructed from CR-39 organic glass, are compatible with the Cokin P-Series Filter Holder, and can be applied individually or in combination with each other.
The Cokin P-Series 120 Graduated Neutral Density G1 Filter is a graduated neutral density filter that helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 0.5 density provides a 1.6-stop reduction in light from entering the lens.
The Cokin P-Series 121M Graduated Neutral Density G2 Medium Filter is also a graduated neutral density filter that helps to specifically darken skies and other bright areas of the image. This filter is densest at the edge as well, and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. Coloration of the image is not affected by this filter and its 0.6 density provides a 2-stop reduction in light from entering the lens.
When used with the compatible Cokin P-Series Filter Holder, these filters can be combined to create up to a 3.6-stop reduction in the area of an image where the dense sections of these filters are stacked between the scene and the lens being used. The dense sections of these filters may also be positioned opposite of each other, to create a 1.6-stop reduction in one area of an image while a 2-stop reduction is created in another. While the dense sections of these filters are positioned opposite of each other, they may be pushed toward each other to create up to a 3.6-stop reduction across the middle of an image.
