The Fantasea Line FP-7100 Housing and Accessories B&H Kit is an underwater photography kit consisting of an FP-7100 underwater housing, a wide-angle lens, an EyeDaptor and EyeGrabber, and a RedEye and PinkEye filter.
The FP-7100 Underwater Housing for Nikon Coolpix P7100 enables you to use your P7100 digital camera for scuba diving, sailing, surfing, white water rafting, or any other activity involving water, sand, dust or other potentially damaging elements. The housing provides access to all camera controls and functions, each of which is clearly labeled, and offers easy and secure camera installation. The FP-7100 has a double O-ring seal and is depth rated to 200' (61 m). It's shock resistant, as well. A removable double fiber optic cable connection enables the use of external flashes, while a removable flash diffuser improves lighting quality when flash is used. A special hot-shoe mount lets you attach lighting accessories to enhance your underwater photography.
The BigEye Wide-Angle Lens for FP-7100 Housing fits over the housing port and can be installed and removed during the course of the dive. Like the housing, the lens features a depth rating of 200' (61 m). It allows you to get nice and close to your subject while still getting a wide angle of coverage, so you can fit everything in-frame. By minimizing the distance and water between you and your subject, you reduce distortion and get images that are clearer and more accurate. The lens has an 80° angle of coverage and a 127% (0.57x) magnification.
Color correction filters are accepted inside the lens, enabling you to replace some of the tones that are lost underwater due to the blue filtering effect of the ocean. A dedicated slot allows for easy installation of red or pink color correction insert discs, which are included along with the RedEye and PinkEye filters. As the BigEye Lens blocks the camera's internal flash, resulting in underexposed or shaded images, it is recommended that you use an optional external strobe when the lens is mounted on the housing.
The EyeDaptor FP7000 - F67 lets you mount any 67 mm threaded accessory lens or filter on the FP-7100 Housing. It is specially designed to enable the mounting of the SharpEye Macro Lens M67 #5128, which results in a slight vignette easily corrected by zooming in. The RedEye Insert included with the RedEye Filter FP7000 #5211 and the PinkEye Insert included with the PinkEye Filter FP7000 #5212 can be installed inside a dedicated slot featured on the adapter, thus restoring colors absorbed and turned into shades of blue and gray underwater.
The EyeGrabber FP7000 is an attachment tool for accessories that are not in use. It mounts onto Flex and Ball / Joint Arms and enables the secure attachment and storage of optic accessories designed for the FP-7100 Housing. The EyeGrabber is compatible with the following lenses and accessories: BigEye Lens FP7000 #5136, EyeDaptor FP7000-F67 #4702 with any lens mounted on top, EyeDaptor S90/S95-F67 #4710 with any lens accessory mounted on top, RedEye Filter FP7000 #5211, PinkEye Filter FP7000 #5212, and SharpEye Lens M67 #5128 when mounted on top of #4702 only. Any of these lenses and accessories can still be mounted on the EyeGrabber when color correction inserts are installed inside.
The RedEye and PinkEye Filters for FP-7100 Housing are color correction filters. They fit directly over the housing lens port or can be installed in the dedicated slot of the BigEye Lens FP7000 #5136 or the EyeDaptor FP7000-F67 #4702 with any lens accessory mounted on it. The filters can be installed and removed during the course of the dive. Since the ocean acts as one large, blue filter, red and pink tones turn into muted shades of blue and grey as you descend further underwater. These filters help to restore the red and pink colors absorbed by the water, allowing your camera to produce vivid and colorful underwater images and videos. In shallow depths, the filters can serve as an attractive alternative to artificial light sources.
