The Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini-ITX Motherboard comes with an LGA1151 socket that supports 6th-generation Skylake Intel processors. You can build a system with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM by utilizing its two memory slots. Gigabyte has equipped the motherboard with 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 technologies that wirelessly connect to networks, headsets, and speakers. For gaming needs, a single PCI express 3.0 x16 slot supports an optional dedicated graphics card.
The Gaming 5 motherboard supports up to six SATA-based storage drives and can configure them into a RAID mode. It provides an M.2 slot that is compatible with an M.2 PCI-based SSD, which transfers data faster than a SATA-based SSD. You also have two SATA Express connectors that combine the benefits of PCI Express and SATA to provide a theoretical bandwidth up to 16 Gb/s.
Gigabyte has designed this motherboard with various ports and jacks so you can connect nearly all your devices. The back panel provides three USB 3.0 and two USB 3.1 ports with 10 Gb/s speeds. One of these USB 3.1 ports features a small, reversible type-C design that allows you connect the very first time. For graphics, this motherboard supports integrated GPUs and outputs visuals via the DVI-D and HDMI ports. You can create a 7.1-channel surround sound setup with your speakers and subwoofer by connecting them to the motherboard's five audio jacks.
