User manual for the Heritage Audio 1073/500 API 500 Series Microphone HA1073/500ANN
The user manual for the Heritage Audio 1073/500 API 500 Series Microphone HA1073/500ANN provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Recording - Microphone Preamps.
The Heritage Audio 1073/500 API 500 Series Microphone Preamplifier Module is a 500 series compatible 80 dB microphone and 10 dB line recording reproduction module based on the vintage 1073 designed by Rupert Neve. The remake is intended for recording engineers who want the classic Neve sound. This module features the same Class A circuitry, the same specifications, and the same construction techniques used in the original 1073. In order to fit all of the same components from the original 80 series console 1073 preamplifier in the form factor of an API 500 series lunchbox, the module was designed to be 3 units wide. This way the module can contain all three of the vintage-accurate transformers, pushbuttons, dual concentric switches, and printed circuit boards.
The preamplifier supports selectable HI-LO minimum balanced and floating input impedances that accommodate a range of microphone types including vintage ribbons. It includes a ±16 dB selectable low-frequency Baxandall shelving EQ at 35 Hz, 60 Hz, 110 Hz, and 220 Hz. For middle frequencies, the unit includes a dual inductor-based ±18 dB peaking fixed 'Q' equalizer with center frequencies at 360 Hz, 700 Hz, 1600 Hz, 3200 Hz, 4800 Hz, and 7200 Hz. An 18 dB per octave slope inductor-based high-pass filter switch allows you to cut below 50 Hz, 80 Hz, 160 Hz, or 300 Hz depending on the application. An EQ button allows for the equalizer to be turned on or off and a phase button allows you to flip the signal 180°.
