The PX21 Compact Waterproof Slave Strobe Head from Intova is a flash that works underwater to a maximum depth of 200' when stowed safely inside the included housing. It features a fiber optic port for a cable, which is available separately and will enable connection to an underwater camera housing. The PX21 functions in slave mode, meaning it is triggered by the firing of another flash, such as the on-camera one. It features a guide number of 40' @ ISO 100 and offers 38° horizontal and 54° vertical angles of coverage, as well as a color temperature of about 5600K. Additionally, it has three pre-flash settings and an auto light sensor that controls light output, selecting from maximum, medium, and minimum levels. Three diffusers are included for softening the light of the flash, in order to prevent backscatter, glare, and hard shadows, and a convenient diffuser holder is supplied as well. The strobe is equipped with a Y clamp that attaches to a standard flex arm, which must be purchased separately. It runs on 2 AAA batteries.
