I have Windows 10 Pro Retail with ASUS Crosshair V Formula A-Z mainboard, and I installed a iStarUSA BPN-DE230SS 3-bay HotSwat bay I purchased through Newegg. The manual does not help much with troubleshooting. But chat forums are talking about problems installing this devise in Windows 10. Enabling the Sata ESP, as a chat forum advised, for the SATA cables I hooked to the bay, did not work for me. I had to reboot every time for the drive added to the HotSwat bay so that Windows 10 would acknowledge it. Having Device Manager search for newly installed drive did not work either. Until I also reinstalled the SATA drivers for my mainboard. After that the mainboard saw the the newly installed drive like it should, and opened File Explorer for the HotSwap drive shortly after installing it. Plus the drive now shows up to safely eject it too, on the task bar hidden icons window. So, in my case, for the bay to work properly in Windows 10, I had to have the SATA cables hooked to it, set to ESP in the BIOS, followed by reinstalling my mainboard SATA drivers, and then reboot, and all was well.
