The 18" Linecam 46 Slider from Motionnine is a portable solution for adding smooth linear movement to your video productions with cameras weighing up to 13 pounds. When placed on the ground or a tabletop, the slider provides a travel distance of 13.7". When centered mounted on a tripod, the slider takes advantage of a belt-drive system that essentially pulls the rails in the same direction as the camera carriage, giving the slider and expanded travel range of 27.5". This makes the slider an ideal choice for shooters who want the increased travel range of a larger slider but in a compact form that is easier to travel with.
The camera carriage features a quick-release plate with a one-touch locking and unlocking system and standard 3/8"-16 screw for attaching a ball head or fluid head. For mounting the slider on a tripod, the bottom plate has 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes. To provide smooth sliding motion as the rail shafts pass between the camera carriage and the bottom plate, the slider uses a four-direction ball bearing system. The rail shafts themselves have a special surface treatment to help prevent dust and dirt from building up on the surfaces.
