The MiniPro 2-Bay 960GB RAID Solid State Drive Array from Oyen Digital offers two 480GB SSDs that can be configured for RAID. These drives feature Micron NAND flash and have no moving parts, which allows them to run coolly and silently, and offers faster access to your data. This feature provides performance and reliability that can be used in noise sensitive environments. This array allows you to hardware configure the drives into RAID 1, 0, JBOD, or BIG. Configuring the drives in RAID 0 will offer the fastest speeds with reads of up to 371.1 MB/s and writes of up to 406.7 MB/s over USB 3.0. To preserve your data if a drive does fail, RAID 1 copies identical data onto both drives. When configured for JBOD, each drive will have its own volume label, and BIG combines both drives into one volume label.
This array features a plethora of ports such as FireWire 800, eSATA, and USB 3.0. With these connections, you can easily connect this array to your Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. This array passively cools the drives via an aluminum housing that works as a heat-sink. Oyen Digital has also designed the array to draw power from your computer via the bus powered FireWire port. If your computer does not include a FireWire port, you can use the included AC adapter to power the array. Furthermore, when your computer enters sleep mode, the array will also power down. Included with the array are eSATA, USB, and FireWire 800 cables.
