User manual for the SPL Track One Channel Strip with A to D Converter SPLTRACONEAD
The user manual for the SPL Track One Channel Strip with A to D Converter SPLTRACONEAD provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Recording - Channel Strips.
The Model 2960 Track One with A to D Converter from SPL is a complete mono channel strip designed for the audio enthusiast searching for an attractive price/performance ratio in channel strips. It includes a number of go-to processors that will spruce up almost whatever you process through it. They include optimized preamp stages for all types of microphones and instruments, SPL's De-Esser processing, compressor limiter equalizer stages, an output stage with metering, and balanced XLR and 1/4" TSR connectors. This model also includes the Module 1090 24 bit, 192 kHz A to D converter for direct digital output. The Track One is a capable and potent tool for the recording of voices and instruments and is engineered to perform in broadcast industry settings, and for studio over live, to post production applications.
The Track One is a channel strip that is designed to be easy to use for vocal and instrument recordings in studio, broadcast or live applications. The controls are reduced to the necessary basics to assist in user-friendliness. Therefore, working with the Track One can be time-saving in live situations.
The Track One is an attractive alternative to built-in console preamps and processing tools. All the modules are immediately at hand for fast interactions, no patching necessary. Recording a voice and providing improved clarity, detail and intelligibility van be addressed almost in a matter of seconds.
The microphone input can be equipped with an optional transformer input stage. These transformers already amplify the microphone signals by factor 5 - the preamps are relieved by this factor at any gain setting. The balanced output can also be equipped with optional transformers.
The compressor can be linked with a second Track One compressor for coherent stereo operation of two units.
A front panel display shows metering for output level and gain reduction and all includes other status LEDs.
24Bit / 192 kHz AD Converter Module 1090 This Track One comes equipped with the 24 Bit / 192 kHz A/D Converter Module 1090, and works with a plug-and-play design for easy installation and usage. It offers an S/P-DIF output with both coaxial and optical connectors in parallel. The heart of the module is a 24-bit converter with a variable sample rate of up to 192 kHz. Quartz oscillators help ensure a clean, low-jitter master clock. The internal sample rate can be switched between 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz. Other sample rates (32, 176.4 and 192 kHz) are set by external syncronization.
The converter can be synced to other digital devices via a S/P-DIF input. The internal oscillators are automatically disabled when an external clock signal is present to prevent interference. An extremely effective voltage stabilizing circuit ensures that the converter continuously receives sufficient and stable voltage - an important prerequisite for clean, transparent audio. The compact design minimizes the signal path to the converter. Grounding surfaces on both sides of the circuit board effectively reduce interference and ensure optimal separation between analog and digital components.
A special feature of the printed circuitry layout is the central star ground wiring scheme: Disturbing electronic influences that could affect the ground paths are minimized in that the audio-ground is separated from the ground of the remaining equipment. This leads, in the truest sense of the word "clean," to considerably improved tonal quality. The scatter free toroidal transformer supplies the equipment with the necessary voltages and forms the basis for a clean electrical supply to all parts of the circuitry.
