The Veracity VOR-ORL-XT Outreach Lite Outdoor Ethernet Extender frees you from the distance limits of Ethernet networks. Cable lengths in Ethernet networks are limited to 328’ (100 m), which is a serious restriction in many installations. This device enables installers to overcome this limitation. Simply connecting the device in line with the network cable instantly boosts its range from 328’ (100 m) to 656’ (200 m).
Fitting the extender is simple because no set-up is required. Its only connections are 2 RJ-45 network ports, both of which immediately self-configure for 10 or 100 BASE-T operation. If network extension beyond 656’ (200 m) is required, then multiple devices may be installed in series.
The maximum extension distance depends on how much power is required. Because the device simply restores the network connection every 328’ (100 m), the full (200 Mbps) bandwidth of 100 BASE-T Ethernet is maintained across the entire link. This maximizes performance and transparency, with no risk of a reduced or unpredictable bandwidth, even at distances of several hundred meters.
By installing the device for every extra 328’ (100 m) of cable, Ethernet signals can be extended for considerable distances with no loss of network bandwidth.
