The Polarie Star Tracker with Smart Phone Adapter from Vixen Optics is a mounting system for DSLR, SLR, some compact cameras, and smart phones, that enables you to easily take streak-free wide-field photos of the sky. With four tracking modes, you can set it for general astrophotography of the sky; Star-scapes, that will let you have combination shots of terrestrial objects with the night sky; as well as the Moon and the Sun. Since the relative speed of near objects like the Moon move faster than deeper space objects, like galaxies, these modes make the Polarie move at the correct speed to reduce or eliminate star-streaks common to long-exposure astrophotography. You simply align the Polarie to the North Star, and move the camera to any point in the sky you want to shoot. Designed for use in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, changing the setting takes just the flip of a switch.
