The AC163A Multimedia (VGA/Serial) over CAT5 Dual-Access Extender Kit by Black Box, comprised of a local transmitter unit and a remote receiver unit, allows you to display VGA computer video up to 360' from the host computer in real time, at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200. The serial port enables control of the remote display device that receives the video signals, which can be a projector, a plasma screen, or any other RS-232 device. Both the video and the bidirectional RS-232 signals are transmitted via a CAT5 cable. A dual-access model, the AC163A enables you to connect a local monitor to the local unit close to the host computer. The local unit features built-in cables and the remote unit features a picture adjuster for optimization of the projected image. Two LEDs on each unit indicate power and transmission status. Typical applications of this extender include display of online information and advertising on large screens in department stores, malls, Internet cafes, and train stations.
