The VSPX-HDMI1X4-TX MediaCento HX Multimedia 4-Port (HDMI/Audio) over 4 CATx Extender Local Unit with HDMI Output by Black Box is a standalone unit designed to split and extend an HDMI/DVI and stereo analog signal coming from an HDMI source into 4 output ports. In its most basic application, the VSPX-HDMI1X4-TX 4-port local unit transmits signals to four VSPX-HDMI-RX remote receiver units (sold separately) connected to it via 4 CATx cables (CAT5e/6). The resolutions supported are 1080p at 130' and 720p/1080i at 200'. The local HDMI output on the VSPX-HDMI1X4-TX can be used either to connect an HDMI display for local video monitoring, or to cascade up to 3 layers of 4-port local units. The remote unit's RJ-45 cascade port enables you to daisy-chain up to 10 VSPX-HDMI-CSRX cascadable remote units (sold separately) from each of the local unit's 4 ports; by using the 4 ports to make 4 separate chains, the VSPX-HDMI1X4-TX can broadcast HDMI compliant video and audio to a total of 40 displays. The last remote unit on each of the 4 daisy-chains can be up to 1300' away from the local unit.
With built-in equalization, the input HDMI cable can be extended to up to 66' using full HD, which increases the overall transmission distance. The transmitter provides uncompressed 7.1-channel digital transmission of the HDMI signal. Being HDMI 1.3 compliant, it supports single-link 225 MHz (6.75Gbps) bandwidth for synchronized video and audio with no perceivable delay, as well as deep color resolutions. HDCP communications are supported, which means that you can extend content from a Blu-ray player or other protected-content source. The unit features 4 DIP switches for EDID control. Typical applications of the MediaCento HX are multimedia production and broadcast studios, medical imaging/video distribution in healthcare, sharing video with classrooms in a school, and retail PoS and PoP signage deployments.
