The user manual for the Cerwin-Vega XD8s - 8" Subwoofer with Built-In XD-8S provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Recording - Studio Monitors.
The Cerwin Vega XD8s - 8" Subwoofer with Built-In Amplifier is designed for augmenting the low frequency response of your system while listening to music, gaming on a computer, and producing media. The subwoofer utilizes a built-in 80W RMS plate amplifier with adjustable crossover to power an 8" high excursion side mounted subwoofer with a custom front firing port to deliver a frequency response of 35 to 255 Hz and a frequency range of 32 to 390 Hz.
The back of the subwoofer features a power switch, fuse, and adjustable control knobs for the volume level and the crossover point (including a bypass setting) for pairing with full range systems. A polarity switch can be engaged for proper phase alignment with the rest of the speakers in your system. For I/O the subwoofer features left and right RCA input connectors for unbalanced signals as well as left and right 1/4" TRS connectors for balanced signals. It also includes loop-thru outputs that bypass the crossover filter for sending a full range signal to the full range speakers in your system. The back panel also includes a serial port for connecting the included remote control.
The handheld remote control unit includes an illuminated master volume control for both the subwoofer and speakers connected to the unit's output. A quick access SUB MUTE button allows you to compare the mix with and without the enhanced low end. The remote also includes a front mounted 1/4" stereo-mini (male to male) port for connecting mobile devises such as a phone or media player into the speaker system.
