The FL-7 Call Signal Flasher from Clear-Com is a compact, low-profile module that provides a visual and/or audible indication whenever a call signal is present on the intercom line. It is used to alert people whose attention is usually focused on other work.
The FL-7 Call Signal Flasher connects to any Clear-Com or compatible intercom system. The flasher emits a bright amber strobe light twice a second in response to a call.
The unit also provides a ringing tone similar to an electronic telephone. The level of this tone is adjustable. A front-panel mode switch allows you to choose among 3 operations: flasher only, ring only, or both flasher and ring. The unit also allows control of both tone volume and light brightness. The FL-7 is especially useful in high-noise environments or in situations where the operator must leave the vicinity of the intercom station to do other tasks. It can be used to augment communications in high-noise environments often found at concerts. It can also be used for backstage signaling, in theatrical understage areas, and for various industrial applications.
Mounted in a steel chassis, the compact flasher is suitable for portable use: simply connect it using a standard mic cable to the intercom line near the operator who requires signaling. The unit is powered by the intercom line, drawing only 80mA during operation. Both male and female 3-pin XLR connectors are provided, allowing the FL-7 to be connected anywhere on the intercom line.
The Call Signal Flasher is designed for either portable use or permanent installation. It can be placed atop a table, shelf or other equipment. For permanent installations, 2 keyhole slots on the bottom of the case permit wall mounting.
