User manual for the Dangerous Music 2-Bus 16-Channel Analog Bus Mixer 2-BUS
The user manual for the Dangerous Music 2-Bus 16-Channel Analog Bus Mixer 2-BUS provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Pro Audio - Recording - Analog Recording Mixers.
The Dangerous Music 2-Bus 16-Channel Analog Bus Mixer is a 2U rack mountable summing mixer designed by mastering engineers for restoring the feel, headroom, and quality of analog sound to digital mixing. The unit can mix the output from up to 16 digital to analog converters and sum them to a stereo recorder. You can add more channels by using the device's 25-pin D-Sub remote expansion connector to link to another 2-Bus, a Dangerous Music Monitor, a Monitor St, or a 2-Bus LT.
For I/O, the mixer features eight pairs of XLR inputs and two stereo outputs. The outputs can be sent to the recorder and a monitor controller for listening to the signal.
For each input pair, the front of the device features a mono button for sending a mix down the center and a +6 dB gain switch for increasing signal level. A stepped output trim level knob provides an overall fine gain adjustment. All other controls such as signal levels and panning position with automation must occur within the Digital Audio Workstation.
A typical workflow using the 2-bus would involve sending each track from within your digital mix to a separate output on your digital to analog converter. Each output is then connected to an input on the summing mixer, the panning and levels are adjusted, and then the stereo output from the mixer is sent to record two new channels through your analog to digital converter and to your DAW. The back of the unit features banana plugs for separating the audio chassis from the ground.
