User manual for the EnGenius EAP300 Wireless N300 Indoor Access Point N-EAP300-KIT
The user manual for the EnGenius EAP300 Wireless N300 Indoor Access Point N-EAP300-KIT provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Computers & Solutions - Networking - Wireless Access Points.
The EAP300 Wireless N300 Indoor Access Point + EPE-5818af 802.3af PoE Injector Kit from EnGenius is a manufacturer's kit that includes the EAP300 Wireless N300 Ceiling Mount Indoor Access Point and the EPE-5818af 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Injector.
The EAP300 is a high-powered, long-range Wireless N300 indoor access point that operates using the 2.4 GHz band and provides wireless connectivity to users and their wireless devices in multi-floor offices, hotels, educational venues, and so on. It features up to 29 dBm transmit power to help deliver extended coverage and also penetrate walls, ceilings, and floors more effectively.
The EAP300 supports WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption to help protect the wireless network from unauthorized access. Additionally, MAC address filtering lets network administrators select exactly which devices should have access to the network. Also, a user isolation function can help protect the private network between client users. So that IT managers, installers, and network administrators may manage and maintain their network, EZ Controller software for Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux is included.
The EPE-5818af 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Injector eliminates the need to place PoE-enabled devices, such as wireless access points or IP cameras, near power outlets. The EPE-5818af delivers both data and electrical power to PoE-enabled devices using a single Ethernet CAT6 cable. The EPE-5818af PoE injector is 802.3af compliant and also features two Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) ports - one port for a connection to an Ethernet switch and the other for connection to a PoE-enabled device.
The EPE-5818af uses standard IEEE pin definition to power the device and comes with a 48V / 0.5A power supply. Pins 1, 2, 3, and 6 are for data transmission, while pins 4, 5, 7, and 8 power the device. The EPE-5818af PoE generates power over a CAT6 cable up to 300' away. By sending 48V, Ethernet terminals such as Wireless LAN Access Points, IP Phones, and, IP Cameras can be powered more remotely from an Ethernet switch. The EPE-5818af is especially useful for outdoor networking deployments and low port density installations.
The EAP300 includes a 12V / 1A power adapter, a ceiling mount and wall screw kit, a mounting bracket, and an RJ-45 Ethernet cable. The EPE-5818af includes a 48V / 0.5A power adapter. Both items are covered by a limited 1-year warranty.
