BFD London Sessions from FXpansion is a drum sample expansion pack for the company's BFD3 and BFD Eco acoustic drum software, featuring the original BFD2 factory library recorded at London's AIR Studios. It includes ten vintage and modern kits with room sounds, tracked through a custom Neve console.
The over eighty kit-pieces offer a large timbral variety and also provide a wide range of mixing options. The room at AIR's Lyndhurst Hall was captured using two pairs of room microphones, including a mid/side set for true mono or expanded stereo. The mixing flexibility is further enhanced by three direct snare and far room microphones.
The Neve console's AIR Montserrat preamps and Prism converters were used throughout, with a range of rock sounds made possible by the room microphones, while the direct and overhead microphones are suitable for all kinds of music from funk and jazz to pop, country, and much more. All sounds were captured in 24-bit/44.1 kHz resolution.
