The Mini Jib with MoCo Motion Control Device Kit is a bundle from Genustech that is designed to cover you whether operating the jib manually or using a motor for motion control work. The Mini Jib features a payload capacity of 9.4 pounds for camera, lens, and on-camera accessories, making it particularly suitable for "handheld" style camcorders and DSLRs. With a height range of over 6' (in addition to the tripod it is mounted on) and a collapsed length of 33.1", the Mini Jib is so named because it is designed to satisfy the requirement for crane-style dynamic shots but in a compact system that is comparable in portability to a professional video tripod.
The included MoCo motion control device is ideal for time-lapse shots or shots where a very slow, expressive camera movement that cannot be accomplished by hand is desired. It features a twine-driven design that is meant to be compatible with nearly any jib and tripod combination, not only the Mini Jib. It is comprised of a motor and winch assembly that can be clamped onto a tripod leg or similar diameter tubular object. The twine is then used to tether it to the jib arm. The winch powers from four AA batteries housed in a separate speed control unit - connected by 10" cable - that can be handheld or secured using its 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 threaded sockets.
