The Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5 Micro-ATX Motherboard comes with an LGA1151 socket that supports 6th-generation Skylake Intel processors. Gigabyte has designed this motherboard with three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, letting you create a high-end gaming system with multiple linked graphics cards. To support heavier cards, it has reinforced the slots with metal shielding. In addition to graphics, a TI Burr Brown OPA2134 operational amplifier and Sound Blaster's suite of software complete the multimedia experience.
The Gaming 5 motherboard supports up to six SATA-based storage drives and can configure them into a RAID mode. You can create a 7.1-channel surround sound setup with your speakers and subwoofer by connecting them to the motherboard's five audio jacks. With legacy devices, it comes with a PS/2 combo port that is designed for a keyboard or mouse. To access a network, it is outfitted with a Gigabit RJ-45 port. You can also equip this motherboard with additional connectors by installing an optional PCIe card to its single PCIe x1 slot.
