User manual for the JVC VN-H657U 2Mp SuperLoLux HD Indoor Network PTZ Dome VN-H657U
The user manual for the JVC VN-H657U 2Mp SuperLoLux HD Indoor Network PTZ Dome VN-H657U provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Surveillance - Surveillance Video - Wired IP Cameras.
The VN-H657U 2Mp SuperLoLuxHD Network PTZ Dome Camera from JVC is an internal dome-design camera that generally remains recessed into a false ceiling to provide minimal intrusion in any indoor location. If it is surface-mounted, the sleek design of the camera blends into a variety of environments for inconspicuous surveillance. It incorporates a newly-developed Direct Drive Motor for Pan and Tilt operations. Instead of a conventional belt-type mechanism, it can provide monitoring with more precision, less operation noise, and superior durability. Even when pan / tilting manually, the mechanism is very responsive allowing precise and natural joystick operation with a maximum of 400°/sec movement. Furthermore, extremely slow movement of 0.04°/sec is possible, so you can carefully examine a scene even at the highest zoom magnification. With an accuracy of 0.03°, the VN-H657U can precisely maintain preset camera positions even after frequent panning and tilting, which is especially important at high zoom magnifications. With an ordinary camera (with low accuracy such as 0.1°), the camera position gradually shifts each time the camera is panned or tilted, so that after frequent usage the position becomes totally different from the initial correct position. The mechanical noises of a belt-driven PTZ camera are absent. In fact, the operating noise as measured from a mere 1m away from this camera amounts to approximately 37 dB. This makes it suitable for usage in locations where noise should be avoided such as hospitals, museums, libraries, and offices. Direct Drive is a very simple mechanism present in this dome camera, making it durable and reliable. The number of parts in the mechanism is far less than that of the belt-driven PTZ cameras. And since the Direct Drive is completely belt-less, there is no possibility of malfunction due to belts that will break on a regular basis. The simplified mechanism reduces the chances of malfunction and increases reliability. The VN-H657U comes with a powerful optical zoom to provide image magnification with full optical quality. The HD images provide enough detail for an additional 10x digital zoom, for precise identification of subjects at great distances. Installation of this dome camera has been simplified with the one-touch lock mechanism. Simply insert the camera unit to the bracket and it is done. Maintenance is also easy. You can replace only the camera unit with the base unit remaining attached. All the preset settings will resume so that you can minimize operation downtime. Built-in PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) allows the camera to be activated through a LAN cable connection. Both, power supply and video transmission are covered by a single cable, reducing costs for cables, installation, and power. With power consumption lower than conventional models, the VN-H657U can minimize impact on the environment. It outputs progressive HD images in either 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 resolutions for better clarity. Lower bandwidth images are also available at 640 x 360, 640 x 480, 320 x 240, 720 x 480, and 352 x 240 resolutions. This function is equivalent to the conventional Wide Dynamic Range function, which allows pictures to be adjusted to identify details of the subject by adjusting gamma curve even in difficult backlit conditions. The IR cut filter automatically switches between on and off modes according to the level of ambient light. During the day it outputs a better-quality color image, and at night the filter mechanism removes the IR filter to output black and white images with greater sensitivity. (Note: When utilizing IR lamps, an external trigger for night mode is recommended.) The VN-H657U can stream both, H.264 and motion JPEG images simultaneously at full frame rate (30 fps for each stream). The H.264 is streamed in either high profile (most bandwidth efficient) or baseline profile (lowest latency) and is suitable for monitoring full HD images. Motion JPEG images are useful when you need to record images as evidence data, because of the good-quality still pictures they can provide. Electronic sense up function provides higher sensitivity level for monitoring in dark locations by lengthening the exposure time automatically. By choosing the display mode that matches the monitor being used, you'll get images with optimal brightness regardless of whether you are using a CRT or LCD monitor.
