The user manual for the KanexPro 4K HDMI Audio De-Embedder HAECOAX2 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Professional Video - Signal Processing & Distribution - Embedders & De-Embedders.
The 4K HDMI Audio De-Embedder from KanexPro allows you to extract multi-channel audio from HDMI signals up to 4K Ultra HD resolution and provides outputs for analog stereo and digital S/PDIF (TOSLINK) audio for routing to a sound system. An HDMI output lets you pass the source signal on to a display, though the de-embedded audio is available with or without a display connected. The device supports color depths up to 16-bit per color channel, is fully HDCP compliant, and, in addition to UHD video, supports 3D and 1080p/60 video signals.
For EDID management, there is a switch built-in to the device that will recognize and switch between 2.0-channel PCM, 5.1-channel, and TV EDID to match with the source. When selecting a 2-channel PCM output, the audio de-embedder can output analog stereo and digital S/PDIF simultaneously to separate devices. The audio de-embedder requires low-power to operate and will work normally for all HDMI powered devices. A micro-USB cable is included for connecting to a 5 VDC power supply when needed.
